December 19, 1863 Editorial on reconstruction and issue of admission of insurrectionary states to Congress with or without slavery.
August 20, 1864 Editorial on Wade-Davis Manifesto.
March 11, 1865 Editorial calling for the federal government to control the process of Reconstruction and punishment for Confederate leadership.
May 27, 1865 Editorial calls for the federal government to control Reconstruction and for refusal to seat representatives of rebel states if they disenfranchise any citizen of the state because of his color. Also reference to black codes.
June 24, 1865 Highly critical editorial commenting on Southern leadership and its continued danger for the Union.
